About The Exhibition:
This juried exhibition will showcase paintings by contemporary Canadian artists.
For this exhibition, a painting is defined as a work of art made from paint applied to canvas, wood, paper, or another support. This broad definition is intended to open the exhibition to entries reflecting a wide variety of contemporary painting techniques and practices.
Works in any paint medium will be considered, keeping in mind that dimensions can be no greater than 50.8 cm in any direction.
PAINT 2019 invites entries from artists at all stages of their careers.
Juror: Christopher Cutts
Christopher Cutts was born in Calgary, AB and raised predominately in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He studied at the University of Las Vegas Nevada before founding Christopher Cutts Gallery in Toronto in 1986. The gallery has been operating in its current location for 29 years. Christopher Cutts Gallery’s program includes estates of historically significant post WWII Canadian artists, most notably 5 members of the Painters 11 group. Additionally, Christopher represents established senior Canadian artists (such as Michel Goulet, Ron Martin, and Michael Snow), mid-career and emerging artists from Canada and overseas. The Christopher Cutts Gallery is committed to the development and growth of contemporary culture, both domestically and abroad.
